Girls Weekend!

Girls Weekend!

Two. Nine. Thirty-six. Two days. Nine wineries. Thirty-six cyclists. Simply put, the stats of one amazing weekend. Notice, however, there was not a count of the number of wines tasted
because well, that might exceed the number of cyclist and that would be
awkward.

As I sit here savoring the last few drops of the Seghesio 2013 Home Ranch Zinfandel, I can’t help but reflect on how well orchestrated the weekend was. Katy and Cliff from Hella Wine & Mo’, frequent the Napa Valley much more often that Rob and I do since the Livermore wineries are in our backyard. Therefore, Katy used her extensive knowledge, along with Google Maps, to plan out the most successful route and dazzle me. And when I say she used Google Maps, it was more than just plotting from one location to the next. It was scrolling along looking for the little wine icon for hidden winery gems along our route.

Bruno!

Katy found an adorable studio apartment for us to rent for the weekend in Guerneville, just up the road from Korbel. It was an easy find, right off the main road and our apartment, like the other nine, had a full kitchen and bath that was perfect for Katy and I since we were try to save a few bucks by eating in each night. (More to spend on wine –priorities!) Marz and his adorable dog, that I of course cuddled with and tried to smuggle into my car, Bruno were so pleasant with every interaction. We definitely recommend staying at the Russian River Studios.

I can’t wait to tell you about the nine wineries we visited. Stay tuned for future articles!

I also want future brides to take note as this was Katy’s
“thank you” to me for being her Maid of
Honor.  Be sure to visit Hella Wine & Mo’ for Katy’s perspective of our weekend!

Cheers,

Sarah

p.s. Check out what happened when we took over Lodi!
